Activites to be done after the mobility in Lithuania

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION ACTIVITIES A3
Following the mobility to Lithuania, February – April 2017

  • Poster competition: students design a poster in the form of a mindmap/ cluster showing teaching strategies which increase / decrease anxiety in the Science classroom. The best poster from each school will be taken to the next meeting to be entered into a central competition. Yiannis suggested omitting the competition and we agreed to that.
  • Post-meeting videos of the visit to be made and posted on the webpage E book – flipbook - with the results of the meeting
  • Spanish partners organize and plan all activities related to Activity C2 - A webinar will organized by our Spanish partners in which they inform the rest of the partners about their plans and expectations for activity C2. (Teachers for teachers and students for students)
  • Each school prepares a presentation  related  to  the results of the interviews on the teaching strategies which students perceive as increasing their anxiety and decreasing their anxiety in the EFL classrooms . The presentations are brought to C2
  • Dissemination by all schools of the results of activity C1 as described in the section on dissemination. Each school informs the project webpages (school, main etc) on how they have disseminated the results and to whom.
  • Students will be split into mixed groups and given a list of  subthemes/branches for  a “Tree of learning” that will be constructed  during  C2 (in La Llagosta).  Students are ready to work on the tree of learning.

Tears at the airport: it's time to say goodbye

Carlos and I took a taxi to the airport. This time, we talked to the hotel receptionist and she asked one for us. This way, cheeky taxi drivers can't cheat us.

Our students were taken to the airport by their host families.

There were tears. Even Ingry, who admitted never crying at goodbyes, cried quite a lot.

Still In Vilnius

Everybody left yesterday, but our flight isn't due till Sunday morning, so I asked for some advice to Svetlana, an English teacher, and she kindly offered to take us to places in Vilnius the next day. Her husband came with us too :)

We visited two museums museums and some churches this morning.

They invited us to lunch as well. I'm so grateful they spent their free time with us. Thank you so much!

And to finish the afternoon some coffee in a nice cafeteria, with chocolate furniture inside :)
Nice day!

Last Erasmus day - KAUNAS

Today we went to Kaunas, the old capital city of Lithuania.

We have visited the museum of the important musician and painter Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and then had a walk in the centre.

We finished the excursion having lunch in a shopping centre. Unluckily for Pina, most of us decided to have pizza for lunch. "The only good pizza is the Napolitan one, Pina says.

This evening well say goodbye to our Italian fiends. They leave early in the morning.

Thanks, Irina, for this nice week and thanks to your students as well. You've been great hosts :)

Fourth day in Vilnius: Lithuania’s Independence Day. TRAKAI

Independence day in Lithuania. The school was closed, so we went on excursion to Trakai, near Vílnius.

Trakai was amazing, with its huge frozen lake, where people walked without sinking :) We even saw a girl in her bikinis who was having a quick bath in the frozen water after getting out of the sauna.
The guide took us to the castle and later on we headed to the restaurant, to do a pasties cooking lesson. We ate them for lunch, of course :)

The next stop of the excursion was a huge park, which had a slippery path that led to another castle. The forest was full of snow, so many students and some teachers (Carlos) , started a snow-throwing-ball battle :)

To finish the day, the Lithuanian partners invited us to a restaurant which had a beautifully set table filled with delicatessen.

An amazing day!

Third Erasmus day in Vilnius

Today students have designed mind maps representing their idea of life without stress. We also had an introducing and interesting session of C++ programming.

Then the teachers had a nice talk about teacher anxiety and later on we headed to our students' PE class. The music was lively and invited to join in , so Pina and I participated. It was so much fun :)

After school, some of the teachers went shopping and sightseeing and our students had also something to do in the evening, Non stop :)
